What we store

Truequity stores the things you need it to store and nothing else.

  • The email you sign up with, so you can log back in.
  • The transactions you enter (manually or via a screenshot you upload), so we can compute your portfolio.
  • Your display preferences: currency, onboarding state, weekly summary opt-in.
  • The AI-generated narratives we write about your portfolio (onboarding read, weekly summary).

We do not collect browsing history, location, advertising IDs, or behavioral analytics. Screenshots you upload for AI extraction are sent to our AI provider to read the trade details, then discarded. We don’t keep the image.

Who can access it

Honest answer, not a legal one:

  • You. Through the app, every screen, anytime.
  • The operator (me). I’m the sole person running Truequity. I have database access because I have to: somebody needs to be able to debug a broken account or restore a backup. I don’t query user data outside of support requests, and I don’t look at your numbers for fun.
  • Other users. Never. Row-level security in Postgres is enforced on every per-user table; one user’s session can’t read another user’s rows.
  • Service providers. Supabase hosts the database and authentication. Vercel hosts the app. A third-party AI provider processes screenshots for AI extraction. Yahoo Finance and CoinGecko serve market prices (we send them tickers, not your holdings). None of them get a copy of your portfolio.

We will never sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train an AI model.

How to export

Open the profile menu and click Export my data. You get a single JSON file containing every row Truequity has on you: transactions, cash entries, preferences, AI summaries, account info. Take it anywhere.

How to delete

Same menu, Delete your account. Two clicks to confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your auth record, transactions, cash entries, preferences, and AI summaries are removed. There’s no soft-delete and no recovery window. Export first if you want a copy.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material (what we store, who can see it, who we share it with), you’ll see a notice in the app and an email before the change takes effect. Routine wording cleanups don’t trigger a notice.
